Occasionally asked questions
What can I expect in our first session?
Our first session is a chance for me to start getting to know you, to let you know that I am listening and here for you, and to offer a helpful tool immediately. This is a chance for you to also get a sense for how I am and if you feel comfortable. We’ll explore what’s bringing you to therapy and what you’re hoping to work on. There’s no pressure to share everything all at once. We’ll go at a pace that feels right for you.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. I offer virtual therapy to clients throughout California via a secure, confidential video platform.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you have no one else to talk to or if your friends are tired of hearing it, it may be time to hire a professional listener! If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or simply curious about your patterns or emotions, therapy can be a helpful space. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit. Therapy is for anyone who wants more clarity, healing, or support navigating life.
What is EMDR and how does it work?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured therapy that helps you process and heal from trauma and distressing experiences. It uses bilateral stimulation (often eye movements) to help your brain reprocess stuck memories, so they feel less overwhelming and more integrated. Many clients find EMDR helpful in reducing emotional intensity and gaining new perspective.
What if I’m nervous or unsure about starting therapy?
That’s a common and completely valid feeling. You don’t have to feel “ready” to begin. You can show up just as you are. I’ll create space for you to feel safe, supported, and seen.
